Trauma therapy

Traumatic experiences can have lasting effects on mental health, relationships, and everyday life. Our experienced Clinical Psychologists have expertise in trauma, complex PTSD, and Complex Emotional Needs. Therapy is tailored to your experiences and paced collaboratively, in a confidential and non-judgemental space.

Approaches may include

  • EMDR: An evidence-based approach that may help people process traumatic memories.
  • Trauma-focused CBT: Works with thoughts, feelings, and patterns related to traumatic experiences.
  • Narrative Exposure Therapy: Supports people to place difficult memories within the wider context of their life story.
  • Mindfulness and relaxation strategies: May support present-moment awareness and coping with stress.
OCD therapy

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder can involve intrusive, unwanted thoughts and repetitive behaviours or mental rituals that are used to manage distress. When these experiences begin to interfere with daily life, therapy can help you explore what is happening and consider practical ways forward.

Our approach is personalised and may draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Together, you and your psychologist can identify triggers, explore beliefs, practise gradual exposure where appropriate, and develop coping strategies. Past adversity may also be considered when relevant to your experience.

Therapy may help you build tolerance for uncertainty, reduce the impact of compulsions, and make more room for daily activities and personal goals. Progress and treatment goals are individual.

ADHD, Autism, and Neurodivergence Support

Many people with ADHD, autism, or other neurodivergent profiles find that traditional therapy approaches don’t always fit their needs. At Reframe Psychology, we offer neurodivergent-affirming therapy that works with your brain, not against it. Whether you’re navigating diagnosis, burnout, sensory sensitivities, executive functioning challenges, or the emotional weight of masking, our clinicians provide a safe, non-judgmental space tailored to how you think and experience the world. We draw on evidence-based approaches adapted for neurodivergent individuals, including CBT, ACT, and schema therapy, always prioritising your autonomy and lived experience.

Parenting support

Parenting can be rewarding and demanding. Our Child Psychologists are experienced in supporting parents and families through challenges such as tantrums, sleep and bonding concerns, school anxiety, co-parenting, separation, and adjustments to parenthood.

Support is tailored to your family and may include practical strategies, help understanding what a child’s behaviour is communicating, and space to reflect on your own needs. Our therapists’ approach is warm, collaborative, and informed by experience in child and adolescent mental health.

Anxiety and depression

Anxiety and low mood can affect energy, relationships, confidence, and everyday routines. Therapy provides a space to talk through what you’re experiencing, understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and identify steps that feel manageable for you.

Depending on your needs and goals, your psychologist may draw on approaches such as CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or Compassion-Focused Therapy. Your treatment plan is developed with you and reviewed as your needs change.

Eating difficulties

Eating difficulties can affect emotional and physical wellbeing, and everyone’s experience is different. Therapy offers a supportive place to explore concerns, understand the feelings and situations connected with them, and consider what support may be helpful.

Our clinicians aim to provide compassionate, evidence-based support tailored to the individual. In an initial conversation, we can discuss your concerns and the kind of care that may be appropriate, including whether additional health support should be considered.

Life transitions

Changes such as becoming a parent, relationship shifts, work challenges, bereavement, ageing, or changes in health can bring uncertainty and strong emotions. Therapy can help you make sense of the transition, identify what matters to you, and explore ways to move forward at your own pace.

Our psychologists take an individualised approach, drawing on your strengths, experiences, and goals. Sessions can provide space to reflect, develop coping strategies, and consider the kind of support that fits your circumstances.
